"Where the snow dusts and where the sun shines" - the freeriders are not far away! The freeride mecca Hochkar is only about 150 kilometers away from Vienna. If the skiing area is known to you so far rather as a World Cup riders' hotbed, then you have not yet got to know the powder pleasure on the 1,808-meter-high mountain! The Hochkar was the first ski area in Lower Austria, Vienna and Burgenland with its own freeride area.
Of freeriding and powdering: If you talk to the long-established skiers and snowboarders at the Hochkar, freeriding and powdering - or as it used to be called, "deep snow skiing" - has always been a big topic in the ski area.

The area offers not only for beginners numerous places to prove their skills in powder snow. Experienced powder fetishists also experience the winter wonderland here! The snow-sure area in Lower Austria is the perfect starting point to get into freeriding and experience the joy of powdering.

Freeride courses on the Hochkar
In the Freeride-Zetnrum Ost on the Hochkar you can really immerse yourself in the fascination of "freeriding". In the most snow-sure and snow-rich skiing area of Lower Austria, the Hochkar, you can optimally approach the free terrain.
High in the Alps, at up to 1,808 meters, you will learn to make turns through the deep snow-covered slopes with the experienced freeride professionals of the JoSchi Ski School.
Safety first: You don't have to be afraid of avalanches off-piste. The medium steepness of the terrain and the avalanche safety offers even inexperienced freeriders unlimited powder snow fun.
